Erly is an entrepreneur with passion for Islamic Finance and technology. He is the founder of Kapital Boost, an Islamic-based peer-to-peer crowdfunding platform in Southeast Asia. Erly has over 15 years experience in the financial industry working at a credit rating agency and various investment banks. Before Kapital Boost, he was a Director at Barclays in Singapore, where he led the top-ranked Asian corporate credit research team (FinanceAsia poll 2010-2013).
Erly left the corporate world and started Kapital Boost to focus on helping smaller businesses and investors. In particular, he wanted to address the lack of financing available to SMEs and the shortage of attractive Islamic-based investments available to retail investors.
Kapital Boost was awarded the ASEAN Rice Bowl Award 2015 (Social Enterprise Startup category) for leveraging the power of technology to address social issues. The company was also the first runner-up at the ASEAN Fintech Challenge 2016 in Kuala Lumpur, and finalists at the Singapore Fintech Festival 2016 and Finspire 2017.
