Theme: The Virtue of Merchant & Business
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Indeed the merchants will be resurrected on the Day of judgement with the wicked, except the one who has Taqwa of Allah (God consciousness), who behaves honorably and is truthful”.
Narrated Isma’il bin ‘Ubaid bin Rifa’ah, from his father ,from his grandfather رضي الله عنهما while they were in the mussola and he ﷺ saw people doing business

Practicing trade is a virtuous act that is recommended in Islam. The prophet (ﷺ) once said: “the trustworthy merchant [would be gathered in the hereafter] with the Prophets, the truthful and the martyrs” (Jami` at-Tirmidhi, hadith no. 1209).
However, not all merchants are exalted in the hereafter, like what is highlighted in the hadith above.
To attain this divine promise, a merchant needs to do more than just avoiding riba dealings. They need to observe several trade ethics and adorn themselves with virtuous Islamic characteristics, which we will discuss in upcoming hadith of the week sharing.
